Excise duty on 2013 will be calculated at a rate of 4,5223 lei per euro, announced by the European Central Bank (ECB) on 1 October 2012, 5.16% higher compared to the course of a year, from 4,3001 lei per euro, used in the calculation of excise tax in 2012.
Depreciation of the Leu against the euro will further influence the price hike to the majority of accizabile notes agerpres.ro.
Accizele are special consumption taxes to the State budget for some products of domestic production or import: beer, wine, fermented beverages, intermediate products, alcohol, tobacco, energy products, electricity.
Also, the rise of fuel prices will be affected, in addition to the depreciation of the Leu against the euro, and excises.
According to the timetable agreed with the EU to raise the level of excise duty to diesel will increase from 1 January 2013 from 374 euros/tonne from 391 EUR/tonne.
In the case of cigarettes, the excise duty will be increased from 79,19 euros to 81,78 euros/1,000 cigarettes at the middle of next year.
